Installation Skills of Flexible Rubber Joint

1. It is necessary to keep the flexible rubber joint pipe in a natural condition when it is constructed, and do not artificially deform the product during installation. When the pipe medium is acid-alkali, oil, high temperature and other special materials, use a gear higher than the working pressure of the pipe. The normal suitable medium for winding rubber joint is ordinary water with temperature of 0-60 °C. Special medium such as oil, acid and alkali, high temperature and other corrosive and strong texture should be selected as relative special resistance rubber joint, which can not be used in general or blindly.

2. When the rubber joint is connected with the pipe flange, the bolt wire rod should be extended to one end of the pipe flange to prevent the rubber joint from pricking when the thread is pressed and swelled. The bolts at each end need to be tightened symmetrically, so that all bolts are loosened together. In bad conditions, in addition to the addition of flat pad, bandage spring washer also should be added to prevent nut loosening.

3. For the arch or high radian rubber joint, it is necessary to select the double head bolt for the reason that it is difficult for the bolt hexagonal to pass through the flange hole, and to reduce the ball end thread protruding as far as possible, so as to prevent the rubber joint from being early damaged when the ball is pressed and swelled. When the flexible rubber joint is used in the inlet and outlet of the pump, it should be located on the side of the water spring, and the metal diameter-changing joint shall be installed in the large diameter source of the variable diameter between the water spring.

4. When the displacement of the pipe is larger than or equal to the maximum offset of the joint, the number of joints should be added to parallel the displacement, and it is forbidden to allow the joint to be in a state of ultimate flexural displacement and error in order to adjust the excess difference of the pipe, let alone exceed the ultimate elasticity, displacement and deflection, etc.

5.High-rise feed or suspended water supply lines shall be fixed to hanger, bracket or anchor, and the joints shall not be allowed to accept the pipe itself and axial force unless the joint is equipped with a pull-proof device (the acceptance of which is necessary to be greater than the axial force of the pipe).In order to facilitate the equipment and reduce the labor strength of the large diameter rubber joint above DN1000mm, a section of short pipe of proper length should be made at one end of the flange. The short pipe of the rubber joint and the other end of the pipe should be connected well, and then the short pipe should be welded with the long pipe at the corresponding end.

6. When installing the rubber joint, the screw of the bolt should be extended to the outside of the joint, and the bolts of each flange face should be repeatedly tightened evenly according to the diagonal pressure method to prevent the pressure deviation. Wire fastening rubber joints should be tightened with a standard wrench. Do not apply extra force to the flexible joints to make the joints slip, slip and crack, and check regularly to prevent loosening to form a disconnect or water seepage.

7. The rubber soft joint should be pressured from the head and put into operation after initial acceptance pressure, such as installation and test, or long time stop and re-use. When rubber joint is used at close distance or at the outlet of water pump, the limit device should be added at both ends of the flange in order to reduce the influence of long time stretch and too much contraction on the pipe.

8. The flange connecting the rubber joint shall be a valve flange or a flange in accordance with GB/T9115.1 (RF). When installing the JGD / KXT type rubber joint, it is necessary for the ball to insert all the wire ropes into the flange slot at both ends of the reinforcing ring to prevent the ball from pulling the flange off when the rubber joint is under pressure. Tighten the symmetrical hexagonal bolt or four bolts to ensure that the ball and flange are in place.

9.Use or store rubber soft joints to prevent high temperature, ozone oil and acid-base environments. A pipe for outdoor or sunny winds require sunshade frames to prevent sunscreen, rain and wind turbidity. The appearance of joint is forbidden to brush paint and surround heat preservation material. Due to aging problem, rubber products  should be timely check replacement. When metal joints and flanges are temporarily welded, keep in mind that the rubber joints are covered with coverings to prevent burning of balls during welding.

10.In order to facilitate the radial error caused by welding deformation of short pipe, two end pipe flanges should be temporarily welded with round steel or other metal objects of corresponding strength before welding, so that to form a rigid body at the joint between the rubber joint and the flange, etc. Remove the welding material after the short pipe welding to make the rubber joint in natural condition after the end of the equipment.
