How to Maintain Rubber Joints

How to reasonably use the rubber joint to prolong its lifetime and reduce the cost of the project is a matter of concern to many users. In fact, the most fundamental use of rubber joint is later maintenance. So how to maintain it?
1. To select the rubber joint medium correctly. For example, flexible rubber joint normal suitable medium is the temperature of 0-60 °C of ordinary water. Special media such as oil, acid and alkali, high temperature and other corrosive and hard conditions, which should be selected to the corresponding special resistant material rubber joints, not blindly serial or universal.
2. Normal and accurate installation. When the pipe displacement is greater than or equal to the maximum compensation of the joint, the number of joints should be increased to parallel displacement. It is strictly prohibited to adjust the pipeline excess, so that the joint is in a state of ultimate flexural displacement and deviation. We must not exceed the limit.
3. Attention should be paid to the high rise water supply or suspended water supply, the pipe should be fixed on the hanger, bracket or anchor, and the rubber joint should not bear the weight and axial force of the pipe itself. Otherwise, the rubber joint should be equipped with anti-tension device.
4. When the rubber joint is installed, the screw of the bolt should be extended to the outside of the joint, and the bolts of each flange face shall be tightened repeatedly and evenly according to the method of diagonal compression to prevent the pressure deviation. Thread rubber joints should be tightened with standard wrench force. Do not use extra force culm to make live joints slip, slip and break. And check regularly to avoid loosening or water seepage.
5. The rubber joint shall be repressurized and then put into operation before the initial pressure or long-term reactivation.
6. Avoid exposure to the sun. Use or store rubber joints should avoid high temperature, ozone oil and acid-base environments. For outdoor or wind-facing pipes, it should be set up sunshade. It is strictly forbidden to storm the sun, rain and the wind is turbid. Paint and wound insulation materials are strictly prohibited on the joint surface. Rubber products should be timely inspection and replacement due to aging problems.

It is concluded that different rubber joints should be used in different environment, not blindly serialized, and then installation strictly to ensure correct installation.
